In this piece, painted during a weekend accompanied by a heavy storm in which winds whipped and trees were felled, we find a sense of her experience. It’s as if she is placing herself within the chaos—green cowering beneath a heightened red reacting to the tumultuous environment around her, expressed in the choppy, muddled background of blues and whites.
